mSQL or even Mini SQL occurs as lightweight client/server database from either Hughes Technologies. Originally developed inside 1994, mSQL filled a vacuum that existed between a embedded desktop databases like Microsoft Access and the enterprise-level commercial databases like Oracle and DB2. Between 1994 & 1997, it grew in popularity & became a primary database of selection for open source developers.

Though it was a database of selection of Open Source, mSQL itself was non an open source technology. By 1996, development in mSQL began to stagnate & MySQL arose to fill that void. By 1999, MySQL had never to return swell beyond mSQL within popularity such that now virtually all population use forgotten all about mSQL. however, a database is still within active development by using version Iii.Septet freed when recently when May 8, 2005.
